The more capable paid version is available only for Windows.Īnother important issue is whether the service performs the backups automatically.

#MOZYPRO DELETE FILES FREE#
EMC’s Mozy () has a free version that works on both Windows and Macintosh computers and can store up to two gigabytes on two PCs. America Online’s Xdrive () offers five gigabytes of free storage for each user, and can store up to 50 gigabytes for $100 a year.
#MOZYPRO DELETE FILES TRIAL#
Generally there is a 15- or 30-day trial period, and some have free versions with capacity limits but no restrictions on use. The trick is figuring out which backup provider offers the right combination of services, support and price for you and protects all the computers on your network.īefore you decide, find out if a free version is available and what its limits are. Finally, once they are set up they don’t take a lot of skill to maintain. Second, they can work automatically so you don’t have to remember to make backups. First, for a few hundred dollars a year, you can buy inexpensive protection for disaster, fire or theft. These services are useful for three reasons. Is Mozy set to run during the day? It might be trying to copy your data while you are working in it which is probably not a good thing and (at the risk of repeating myself) will not give you a good backup.PROTECTING the electronic re- cords of your business has gotten easier and more affordable, thanks to services that can make backups of computer files across the Internet. If you have two licenses you definitely can be using the program at the same time as long as you are each logging in to Timeslips as a different user (look in the bottom right corner of Timeslips) and are exiting Timeslips when done. It's hard for me to say from your description whether the files are on the c drive, possible problem, or on mozy which would not matter except that they are taking up space. This is the best way to assure a good backup and to prevent problems.
#MOZYPRO DELETE FILES SOFTWARE#
I generally recommend a backup procedure of doing backups from within Timeslips and then having your backup software backup the backup you made. In this case the pdox and paradox files on the mozy server and harmless but the backups are properly not good backups. If the files are in Mozy that indicates to me that Mozy may be doing backups when Timeslips is running. If Timeslips crashes or is not closed properly these files may continue to exist. When Timeslips is closed properly these files should be removed by the program. The Pdoxusrs.lck, and paradox.lck files are files created by Timeslips. When you are on a message, there is a kudos button you can click on to give someone kudos. How do I get them to you? Is there a button to click on your response? (or anyone else who has the answers to my perplexing questions.) Thanks Caren, I owe you a couple of Kudos. More importantly, what are my secretary and I doing that is causing the creation of these files and the difficulty in shutting down Timeslips? Should we not be opening or using the program at the same time? I did get a message that the files are on the MozyPro servers (we backup daily to MozyPro.)Īre these files not in my computer, but in MozyPro? and if so, why would they influence the operation of Timeslips from that location?

I go to Explorer and Timeslips file and try to find the individual files and they aren't there. I run a search of my C drive and it finds 514 of those files in TSShared\timeslips2008\PDO or \data (and I can't see the rest of the description of the file.) I can not highlight the files, so I can not get them deleted. There was a previous discussion on this and Caren advised to delete all of the three folders mentioned above in the Subject line. Is Caren out there? Help! When we (my secretary and I each working at our separate but networked (peer-to-peer) computers) shut down Timeslips, it locks up and has to be shut down by Task Manager.
